Who can join the team

To apply you need to:

• Be actively paying into one of our pension schemes to join our team, in other words, an active member of one of the schemes at the time of applying or
• A pensioner member.

As the GE Pension Plan is closing to future accrual of benefits there will be no active members after 1 January 2022, but if you were an active member and as long as you remain in GE’s employment you remain eligible.

If you’re appointed as a Member Nominated Director (MND) or as a Trustee Talent Pool (TTP) member and then subsequently either cease to be employed by a GE Company or start receiving your Plan pension, our policy specifies that your term of office must end immediately.

You may need to know that it is a criminal offence to act as a trustee if any of the following apply to you:

• A disqualification as a company director;
• A conviction of any offence involving dishonesty or deception;
• Bankruptcy or impounding;
• Have property in Scotland which is covered by a sequestration order;
• A failure to settle an agreement with creditors; or
• A previous suspension, or disqualification as a trustee by The Pensions Regulator.
